We recommend:

• drywall putty
• a flour sack
• sandpaper
• paint to match the wall
• a painter's knife

First, you'll need to determine how bad the hole is. If it's a simple cosmetic hole, the fix will be pretty easy and you may not need to worry about filling the area. However, if you've got a pretty large hole, it's a good idea to stuff something in there to make it easier to fill. A flour sack works very well for this purpose, and can make it easier to get the job done quickly. You may also want to get a special kit from the hardware store that will have filler that can be inserted into the hole.

Once you've got the hole filled, it's time to cover it up. Grab your drywall putty and your painter's knife and get started. You'll want to use a spackle motion to apply the putty to the wall. Overlap the hole as you go to create a strong bond. Make sure that you don't use too much or you'll end up with a mess on your hand. Too little however and you won't be able to get the job done. Instead of glopping it on all at once, gradually apply the putty until the area is even and filled in.

Now, you're going to need to let this dry before proceeding to the next step. It may take a few hours depending on the type of putty you used. Make sure you read the instructions so that you're not jumping the gun. When the putty is completely dry to the touch, get your sandpaper and smooth out the area. You'll need to make a few passes to get everything smoothed out and even with the rest of the wall.

Once you've finished this, you'll be able to paint over the area. Most drywall putty is taupe or light brown in color so you won't have to worry too much about covering it up with paint. If the wall is white, you're probably going to need to add a few coats to prevent see through. Let the paint dry completely before you quit to make sure that it looks right.

It is important to address a common technique that many people use as a shortcut. If you've got a small hole in the wall and you're a renter, you can easily make it look as though it's fixed by adding a little white toothpaste to the area. For bigger holes, some people like to try mixing flour and water to create a paste and using a sheet to cover the hole. We don't recommend this fix since it is not permanent.

Most modern style screen doors have an aluminum frame that is lightweight and stretched across the frame there is fiberglass screening material. What to Purchase

Nearly any home center or hardware store is going to stock the rescreening supplies that you need as well as universal hardware for your screen door, doors that come from some larger types of manufacturers can sometimes require specific parts for replacement. For example, Anderson does sell replacement parts and hardware for the doors that it manufacturers at retailers such as Home Depot. If your door is from a smaller company or a regional company, however, then you should probably simply choose generic parts. If you are replacing the rollers for your door then you are going to want to bring an original along with you so that you can find the best possible match.

When you buy screen, make sure that you are buying enough that you can overlap the entire doorframe by at least 2 inches on every side. You are also going to need new spline, which is a material that holds the screening material into the groove it fits into if the existing spline should happen to be brittle or broken. You will also need a spline installation tool in order to get the job done.

Ultimately, most small appliances fall into two basic categories: heaters and movers. A toaster, for example, is a type of heating appliance, while a blender is of the moving type. This is an oversimplification of course, but it serves to illustrate the point that most small appliances are quite similar in how they operate. Thus, small appliance repair isn’t as difficult or intimidating as it might first appear to be.

When trying to perform small appliance repair, the first step is to identify the problem. Usually, the problem will be either that a device that’s supposed to heat things doesn’t heat them, or a device that’s supposed to move things doesn’t move them. The problem in the first case is usually an electrical one, since small appliances typically use electricity to heat things. Electricity might also be the problem with a moving appliance, or there may be something blocking the device from moving.

If there is some kind of blockage in a moving appliance, this is usually the easiest type of small appliance repair to perform. Once you’ve identified the part that isn’t moving, simply ensure that the device is unplugged and then try to manipulate that part. You may be able to manually remove the blockage with a little bit of careful prying. You may need to take the device apart to get to the blockage. Don’t be afraid to use a bit of trial and error. So long as you’re careful not to damage any fragile parts, you can usually get the appliance working again.

Electrical problems can be more difficult to perform small appliance repairs on. This is largely because the problem is more difficult to diagnose. Any number of sections may be the source of electrical problem, from the external wiring to the internal connectors or even the switch that turns the appliance on. It can be tough to pinpoint exactly which part of the device is malfunctioning.

The best place to start with this sort of small appliance repair is to identify the symptoms. If the device works up to a certain point but then stops working, or it works but does so incorrectly, that can provide you with some clues. For example, if a toaster ends up burning the toast all the time, then the problem may be the thermostat. Once you have an idea of the symptoms, it’s easier to pinpoint the exact problem and learn how to perform that sort of small appliance repair.

If the ground has moved or shifted beneath the concrete, and the concrete is cracking as well as becoming uneven, then this event can become even more hazardous in nature. If you desire, you can apply a clear sealant in order to afford your concrete can additional layer of protection, which may mean less cleanings in the future.

If you do not feel comfortable with the idea of fixing your own concrete, or if you are lacking in the proper tools, then what you can do is bring in a professional concrete contractor. It may be cost effective to redo the entire surface if you are bringing in an expert, as larger jobs tend to be more cost effective than smaller and more detailed jobs. Make sure to get an estimate for both of these levels of service in order to determine which will best suit your needs.

If your concrete is cracked or no longer level, you need to repair it as soon as possible. Not only is it unsightly, but it is also bad for cars to drive on and people to walk or bike on. If you are unsure about the steps necessary, there is no harm in asking for help from a professional.
