Spring & C-clamps are one of the most common types of clamps used to hold things together. Like the F-clamp, spring & C-clamps get their name from its shape. The part that actually hold the items together looks like a C. The lower part of the C has a bolt through it that you can move up or down to make the spring & C-clamps wider or tighter. Sometimes, spring & C-clamps are also referred to as G-clamps because the bolt that locks the movable part of the clamp into place makes it look more like a G than a C.
