Hammers Hand Tools Tools Home Improvement
Hammers are one of the most basic of all tools, but they’re one of the most important and useful tools to have. Hammers allow you to join two items together using nails, remove (and thus, detach) items from each other or from the wall, and flatten out items. There are many different types of hammers, though, and you will want to use different hammers depending on what you’re doing.Discount & Bargain
The standard claw hammer is what we’re most familiar with. These types of hammers usually have a wooden or metal handle (sometimes covered with a plastic grip) with a metal head at the top. On one end is the flat head used to drive in nails; on the other end are the claws that are used to remove nails. However, while these hammers are the most generic and, some might say, useful, there are other kinds. Some do not include the claws. Some, like roofing hammers, often have chisels or other devices behind the head. Then there are rubber mallets that can be used when the metal heads of regular hammers would damage items. On the other end of the spectrum are sledge hammers, the very heavy, powerful type of hammers that are used to destroy concrete or durable objects.
While most people can make do with a standard claw hammer, you may need one or two other types of hammers if you’re planning to do certain types of work, you’ll need a special hammer. Check out our large selection of hammers—we have one for just about every job!
