Knives & cutters are often used in businesses to open boxes. In fact, some cutters are commonly referred to as box cutters for just this reason. These cutters are made out of metal and have a sliding switch on one side. Slide it forward, and the blade, usually a sharpened razor blade, slides out one end. These types of knives & cutters work great for cutting through packing tape and cardboard. If you’ll be cutting a lot of rope or twine, on the other hand, a pocket knife may be more useful since they’re designed to cut at various angles, while cutters are usually used to cut in straight lines either up or across.
