homeimprovement2Cantilever - This is any portion of a structure that is projected beyond the main support and therefore is balanced upon it.

Cap Flashing - This is a portion of flashing that is attached to a surface that is vertical in order to prevent any water from migrating up behind the flashing.

Cap Sheet - This is a top layer in a built up roofing design.

Casement Window - This is a window that has hinges on its vertical sides and is capable of swinging up like a door would.

Cast Iron Pipe -Cast iron pipe, in plumbing, is used for drain and vent lines.

Cat's Paw - This is a pry bar variation that is designed to pry away counter sunk nails that are deep set.

Catch Basin - This is a drain that is designed to deal with a low spot or a wet spot, and it typically has pipe exiting its side and there is typically a pit near the bottom that is designed to catch any sediment as it passes through.

Caulking - In carpentry, caulking is a flexible type of material that is used to seal gaps between two different surfaces. In roofing, caulking is mastic plastic or asphalt plastic cement that is used to fill joints so that leaks can be prevented.

Cells - In masonry, cells are described as being the hollow spaces in the concrete blocks.

Chalk Line - This is a line that is made on a roof by snapping a cord or string taut while dusted with chalk. The purpose of a chalk line is to deal with alignment issues.

Change Order - This is a document that is written to modify the plans for a construction contract or the specifications and prices associated with it.

Circuit - This is a network of wiring commencing at a panel, then feeding electricity to a number of outlets before ultimately returning back to the panel box again.

Circuit Breaker - This is a device that is designed to shut the power off to a portion of the home or all of the home to limit how much power is going through a particular circuit.

Cleat - This is a small it of lumber that is attached to some other piece of lumber in order to lend it more support.

Closet Auger - This is a plumbing tool that is often used to clean obstructions from a toilet trap where the waste pipe's mouth begins.

Coal Tar - This is a viscous liquid compound made up of hydrocarbon compounds that are derived from the distillation of coal.

Coating - This is a layer of asphalt that is applied to a base material where extra granules or other types of surfacing materials are embedded.
