Quick and Inexpensive Kitchen Updates

nodoorsEveryone knows that the heart of the home can be found within the kitchen. As a result, you need to make a top priority out of turning your kitchen into a beautiful and comfortable space. Believe it or not, it does not need to be taxing or expensive for you to beautify your kitchen once and for all. Here are some of the things that you can do in order to make this happen.

1 - You can stain the kitchen cabinets, or you can be even bolder by using more than one type of stain on the cabinets in order to improve the look even further. This does not need to be difficult nor expensive as a proposition for your kitchen, but it can do some amazing things to change the look of your kitchen quickly, easily and inexpensively.

2 - Completely change out your cabinet doors if you are looking for something new. If you want to refresh your doors, but you do not want to stain them or paint them, you can replace them all together, or you can cover them with tin or fabric or something else all together. There are plenty of things that you can do to completely renew your cabinetry without a lot of stress or an endless budget.

3 - If you want to give your kitchen a completely revolutionary new look, consider eliminating your cabinet doors all together to create some more much needed storage space. You can add in new shelving and other things to create more easily displayed collections of china and glassware and such as needed.

4 - If you are looking for a simple change, consider changing out the hardware by replacing all of the drawer pulls, door knobs, handles and other knobs on the doors, drawers, cabinets and so on and so forth. You can find knobs and handles in a myriad of different sizes, shapes and colors. This is an easy and inexpensive way to change the look of your kitchen in less than an hour if you are looking for a quick and simple change.

5 - You may consider adding some paint or adding a border. Add a border at the ceiling level, the waist level, the chair level or any other level that you like. Add paint using one of the more popular techniques rather than just applying it with a roller. You can use sponging, stenciling or something else creative to add a splash of color to your kitchen in order to renew its beauty and comfort for your entire home.

Adding style and beauty to your kitchen is really not difficult at all, and it does not have to cost you a lot of money either. Consider the five tips above or come up with your own to revolutionize your kitchen once and for all.

Sorry to disappoint but people underestimate how much hardware there is in a kitchen. It’s not unusual to have 60, 80 or more than 100 pieces of hardware to replace and this will take way more than the hour suggested.

I do like the idea of staining vs painting kitchen cabinets, especially when the wood body is in good shape. Staining the cabinets and replacing the doors and drawer fronts is something we’ve helped several homeowners do … and I recommend searching for the cabinet fronts online as there are many good choices.
