It does not matter where you are living, or whether you are renting or owning your home. Pliers and Wrenches - Both wrenches and pliers are capable of providing you with an extra level of grip as well as leverage when you are working on projects all throughout the house. It would be beneficial for you to own one of each because they tend to be best suited for different types of jobs and applications. Pliers tend to be excellent for anything like pulling nails out and bending wire, and some pliers even have a cutting edge built right into the jaw for ease in cutting wire. Wrenches, however, are the tools that you should be reaching for when you need to provide grip and extra torque so that you can tighten or loosen a pipe or turn nuts and bolts.

Utility Knife - Also known as a box cutter, a carpet knife or a razor knife, a utility knife has a hollow handle made of metal or plastic that houses a razor blade that is capable of being retracted. Utility knives can be incredibly useful for a myriad of different do it yourself projects, regardless of what your current skill level is. They can help with slicing through drywall, cardboard, carpet, thin plastic and even some linoleum material quickly and easily.

Remember, having the right tools handy makes all the difference in whether or not your DIY project is successful.
