If you have ever suffered from a minor burn at the hands of your oven, iron or hair appliances, you probably know that it is not a lot of fun. There are a host of old wives remedies that spring to mind, but few ever get the job done right. Have you ever really felt relief after putting butter on a burn?
For those looking for a more reliable means of soothing a minor burn, we highly recommend Burn Jel Plus (aka Water Jel First Aid Burn Liquid). This is like instant relief in a bottle and we can’t believe how effective it was. One treatment was all it took and we actually ended up forgetting about the burn entirely. Now, it should be noted that this product is only to be used for minor, everyday burns, and not severe third degree burns that require the help of a doctor.
However, for annoyance burns that are painful and take days to heal, this product is a lifesaver. The ingredients are really the key to how well this works. First off, you have lidocaine, which is incredibly effective at topical pain relief. It’s similar to what hospitals use for local anesthetic and it does get the job done quite quickly.
The second major ingredient is tea tree oil, which has many benefits. First and foremost, tea tree oil is a terrific antibacterial that is completely natural. This should help you avoid getting an infection, which is quite common after a burn. It also works for other minor skin irritations, but should only be used if the skin is not broken. If you do have a burn or injury that has broken skin, it is probably best to seek medical attention before using this product.
A lot of people have reported that this product gets great results with sunburns, as well as with scalds. We are all too familiar with the pain that comes from sloshing hot coffee over our hands and wish that we would have discovered this product a lot sooner. You can really feel the soothing and cooling action just seconds after applying it.
It is recommended that you only use this product three to four times a day and you really only need a thin layer. Depending on how often you burn yourself, it should last quite a while. We were very happy to see that it is safe to use on children over the age of two and feel that it will really come in handy as the kids grow up. Scalds are sometimes a fact of life and this will make a big difference in relieving a child’s pain.
This definitely deserves a spot in any first aid kit, especially since it has a multitude of uses. From painful insect bites to burns and scalds, we have not found any other product that can provide these results. Given its overall cheap price, it is absolutely well worth the money spent and we highly recommend it.
